Singapore

After a few weeks in Manila we have arrived in Singapore.
Our hotel is in the Little India neighborhood of the city.
Although the passport stamp says Singapore...the sights and smells are all India.

Across the street from our hotel is this wonderful temple.
Sri Veerama Kaliamman.
The locals are praying here night and day.

Everyday we walk past this place and always find new amazing features....

So cool.....

The local custom is to remove ones shoes before entering.
I wanted to trade my flip flops for these I saw out front...awesome!

This was our Indian food lunch.

Singapore is a ultra modern city.
We rode the MRT from the airport to Little India.
Fast, smooth and clean...a great way to get around.

This was breakfast our first day.
We try to avoid the tourist restaurants and eat where the locals eat.
It does'nt get any more local than this place.
At first Little India was intimidating, but now we are confident in any local restaurant.

The shop across from the temple.

Little India is an old neighborhood in Singapore.
Nice old architecture and dirty back alleys make for a good walkabout.
More amazing Indian food...
Keep checking back for updates from other neighborhoods in Singapore.
Up next...Chinatown.
